Hello Tom:
May 11, 2007
I am glad to hear you and Geetha had a safe return to Chicago. Welcome back.
I will send you a check for $240.00 to cover Barathi's educational expenses early next week. I believe that
should cover her for the year.
I firmly believe God has put me in this position for her and I won’t let her down. He has been very good to
me and likewise I like to pass on my blessings as well.
Thank you for the email and may God bless you and Geetha for the outstanding job that you are doing
for Him.
Best Regards to you both,
Al Sears Jr.

Hello Tom and Geetha,
January 2007
Thank you for all of your hard work. I am so impressed by your financial report. The DVD you sent was very good. Our whole family watched it and we felt a deeper connection to your work. Actually, our work - because as I told my children - we are working together to help others both here in Milwaukee and across the ocean in India. People can join together, without even knowing each other too well, inspire each other and serve wider communities on our planet.
I have also added a link to your website at my home page (poetry section). All proceeds from the sale of a hand-made poetry chapbook this year (about $120.00) went to your organization. I hope to continue this year.
Peace and Blessings to you and your mission.

“The website of the Foundation for Children in Need is beautiful and very easy to navigate. Colorful pictures on several of the web pages show the work being carried on by the organization in the villages of India. Particularly heartwarming are the personal stories of some of the people—young and old—who have been helped through sponsorships. The FAQ section is very informative and provides clear, brief explanations of the work of the Foundation. It makes one very humble to realize that even with so little these people can be happy and positive in their outlook. We are privileged to support the work of FCN.”

Dr. Geetha,
December 2006
Nice to hear from you! And YES, I finally received the package. I was very please to see it today. I was going online to write you a note indicating such and I saw your note. Thank you!
I am glad you reached India safely. That must be one heck of a flight. In fact, I do work for a company called Timken, and they have a facility in Jamshedpur. I wonder if it is anywhere near your villages.

My wife Kellie and I are so glad we decided to take part in this. I watched your video on the computer, and will watch it with my kids tomorrow (I have 2 girls, ages 6 and 12). I was happy to see one of the children we are sponsoring is 6 years old named Manasa. My six year old daughter thought that was neat. I am also very glad to help Karuna as well. They both look like lovely little ladies.

I read your note about Christmas gifts, and understand. It would be neat for me to help these girls out specifically, but I know it is too much for you to handle, and not fair to all the kids. I am mailing the check today, with a little extra for the Christmas fund. I will pay once a year to help simplify your record keeping.
I know it is difficult, but if there is anything we can do for the families (if someone takes ill and needs financial help) or extra to continue their education, please let me know. We plan on doing whatever we can for these lovely people. Also, if you need a sponsor for Karuna Veena Varikuti's sister who is 12, let me know. I would sponsor 3 kids if you need me to. I think it would be neat to sponsor kids who are the same age as my kids. I also see that Karuna Veena is 18 years old. If she needs anything for her to excel in her studies in college, or extra for tuition (or whatever it is called in India :), let me know.
God Bless you and your mission. You are really something special. Again, please keep me posted if there is anything else I can do for you or these kids.

Dr. Geetha,

My name is Linda Jankowski and, with my husband, Richard, we sponsor a delightful 9-year-old girl, Mounika Thummala of St. Mary’s project, in India through Foundation for Children in Need (FCN). We were first introduced to FCN when we heard one of the co-founders, Dr Geetha Yeruva, speak at our church in Brillion, WI. We had been searching for some time for a way to “make a difference” assisting the poor of the world that matched our philosophy and FCN was heaven sent. We were so impressed by the work they do and the principles they profess, that we immediately signed up to be sponsors.
For only $20.00 a month and $ 240 annually, a child is provided with food, clothing, education, and medical care. Only less than 10 % is spent for administration, project management and fund raising. We were especially impressed with the education aspect because we always felt that through education of the poor, they would be able to provide for their future and retain their dignity. A wise man once said, “Give me a fish and I will eat for a day, but teach me to fish and I will eat for a lifetime!”

We exchange letters throughout the year with Mounika and find her letters well written, thoughtful, and informative. We enjoy telling her about the United States and events that occur here and she, in turn, does the same. Mounika works industriously at her education and it is evident in her letters, she has such a fabulous vocabulary for her age.

Recently, I had a “Jeans Day” fundraiser where I am employed. Employees pay $3.00 to wear jeans on Friday and my employer matches whatever is collected. It’s a great way to help a worthy organization like FCN to replenish supplies for their schools or to help provide assistance to those children who do not yet have sponsors.
Our prayers are with all those involved in FCN for their tireless and selfless work on behalf of all the children.
