|
| Dear Sponsors, |
December 3, 2008 |
Greetings and best wishes to you, we hope and pray that this letter finds you well. We'd like to send our heart-felt wishes for a Merry Christmas and Joyful New Year. May the Child Jesus bless you abundantly in the year to come. |
|
We are shocked and saddened to share with you about the terrorist attacks in Mumbai on November 26th. Although we are 500 miles away it has affected all of India. Please keep us in your prayers. |
|
We are hearing a lot in the news about the financial situation in U.S. and we are praying that things will change soon. We want you to be strong and over come with faith and courage. |
|
We left the United States in September and are safely settled back in India where we're able to pursue our passion, working directly with the needy families and individuals of the Foundation for Children in Need. All of our projects in India are going well. Due to your generosity, we are able to offer aid to so many of the less fortunate. For this we are deeply grateful and we ask that you continue your kind support, we couldn't do any of this without you. It is truly a blessing to feel the love and support each one of you shows through sponsorship. |
|
Foundation for Children in Need has made tremendous progress in the past six years. We wouldn't be where we are without the dedicated and tireless support of our Executive Secretary Gail Walton, who's been with FCN for the last six years. It's with sadness that we announce Gail has resigned to help with the care of her mother and sister along with taking care of some personal matters. She will be greatly missed. We wish her all the best and are so grateful for all she's done for FCN. Gail and her husband Al were incredibly generous for hosting the FCN office in their home for the last six years. Their contributions helped us to build a strong foundation for FCN and we can't imagine how we could have accomplished so much without their help. May God bless them. |
|
We are pleased to announce that FCN has hired Sheilya Swan and Sue Dunn as part time helpers at our office in Arlington Heights. Sheilya is the Director of operations and is in charge of the FCN Office. Sue is the Director of the Sponsorship program. Please feel free to contact them if you have any questions regarding your sponsorship. Sheilya@fcnindia.org, Sue@fcnindia.org or via phone at 847-670-1145. |
|
We are able to send reminder email one month before your sponsorship payment date as many sponsors have requested. Please email Sheilya or Sue if your have not received such email reminders or if your email ID has changed. |
|
We encourage you to send letters, photos, greeting cards and stickers to your sponsored individuals, they enjoy them so much. Please make a note that we're changing the mailing address for letters to your sponsored individuals. Kindly send them directly to India to the address below. The detailed information can be found on our web site: www.fcnindia.org and click on SPONSORSHIP for details. |

FCN takes care of fifty elderly at this wonderful home. Please visit our website for more details. www.fcnindia.org. |

You are often in our thoughts and prayers. We give thanks every day for your continued support and none of our work would be possible without your generosity. Please feel free to email us. You are remembered daily in the prayers and hearts of the sponsored individuals and families of FCN. We humbly ask for your continued prayers and generous donations that allow us to do so much for those who would otherwise have no where else to turn. |

Casey and
Melanie Barber Memorial Chapel
|
| Dear Friends, |
November 18, 2008 |
With
much excitement and gratitude we’re
happy to announce that on November 17, 2008
we had the blessing and opening of Casey
and Melanie Barber Memorial Chapel at St.
Xavier’s Home for the Aged. We are
glad that we could accomplish this with
your support. We are honored that Mary Jones
Wilson and her son, Ian were able to join
us for this great event. We thank Mary Ian
and all of you who have contributed for
the construction of this chapel. We thank
God for the gift of Casey and Melanie in
our lives. |
|
Casey and Melanie have been very dear to all of us. They both were only 40 years and died in a fatal car accident on July 31st 2006. We will miss them for the rest of our lives. We are recovering from the shock and asking God to give us strength and courage. We have been praying for all the family and friends and especially for Nick, Cullen and Albert their three children. Though Casey and Melanie are not with us physically yet their spirit is still vibrant and alive. May God grant them Eternal Rest. |
|
Casey and Melanie have been helping us in our mission work in many ways. They have shared with many of you about our ministry. Some family members and friends have expressed that they would like to do something in memory of Casey and Melanie through our Foundation. We thought and prayed and decided that we would build a chapel in Memory of Casey and Melanie at St. Xavier's home for the Aged in India. This home presently has 50 elderly who stay with us. They are provided with food, clothing and medical care totally free of cost. |
|
We invite you to participate in the beautiful work of FCN in memory of Casey and Melanie. Please make your donation to Foundation for Children in Need or FCN and mail it to: |

Please kindly share this information with all the family members and friends. Thanking you and wishing you the Grace and Strength of Christ. |

| Dear Friends, |
June
2008 |
Greetings
and best wishes to you all. I am happy to
share that God bas been blessing us in our
work. FCN has made tremendous progress this
past year. We are sponsoring 1,600 children
and college students and 50 elderly through
our sponsorship program. It is a great blessing
for the needy. |
|
Our sponsors continue to visit the sponsorship projects in India. Their experiences are priceless. |
|
|
|
On behalf of the many needy that we serve, I thank you for your kindness and generosity. This annual report will provide you a brief glimpse or our sponsorship program. We are truly thankful to you for your support. You are in the hearts and prayers of everyone that we serve.

| Sincerely, |

| Tax Receipt: |
|
In the past, FCN has sent
a tax letter/receipt in January for all donations
received during the previous year. Beginning
January 2008, we will mail a tax receipt each
time we receive a donation. You should expect
the receipt about two weeks after the donation
reaches our offices. These multiple receipts
or single receipts will replace the once yearly
receipts of the past; take care to save them
for your tax records.
|
|
|
|
Your
Sponsorship Donation Stub: |
|
| As
many of you have requested, we’re working
on a system of reminders for Sponsorship donation
due dates. Beginning this year, each Sponsor’s
tax receipt will have a stub indicating when your
next Sponsorship donation is due. Please send
your check together with this stub. |
|
When we
receive sponsorship donations on time it allows
us to continue to focus on our ministry rather
than having to take time to follow up with phone
calls or emails to remind each individual sponsor
of due dates. As most of you know, we work hard
to keep all administrative costs to a minimum
in order to direct our funds where they’re
needed most, to the individuals you sponsor and
the projects of FCN. Please understand us and
help us. |
|
|
|
Email sponsorship reminders: |
|
| Along
with sending out donation reminders with tax receipts,
we are developing an email program that will generate
email reminders for all those who send Sponsorship
donations annually or semi-annually. |
|
Please
send your current email address to: GAILFCN@aol.com
and remember to update us when your information
changes. Your contact information will only be
used for these reminders and will not be shared
with any organizations other than FCN. |
|

|
Gift Fund: |
|
| We sincerely
thank you for your kind and generous donation
for the Gift Fund. We're able to share holiday
joy and bring a smile to the faces of each sponsored
individual as well as many other needy children
through the Gift Fund. You can be sure that these
gifts bring much gratitude from all those involved
in FCN. |
|
You're
welcome to send your donation for the Gift Fund
anytime during the year. If you're able to combine
your Sponsorship donation and your Gift Fund donation
in one check it will help to reduce paper work
on our end, this is always appreciated! Just include
a note indicating each amount so we know how to
allocate the funds. |
|
|
|
How we maintain the files: |
|
| At the
FCN office we maintain an individual file for
each sponsor. Photos and the family background
of your sponsored individual are kept in this
file. We make two copies of each check you send.
One copy is kept in your file and the other is
kept with the weekly bank deposit report. All
this information is entered into our computer
program. We are very meticulous about how we maintain
our records. |
|
|
|
Sponsorship Payment Options: |
|
| To reduce
FCN office work and expenses we request that you
send your sponsorship donation annually or semi-annually
We understand that's not always possible, if quarterly
donations work better for you please let us know.
As we mentioned, it's our goal to direct as much
of our time and financial resources where it matters
most. Any way we can expedite that with your co-operation
is greatly appreciated. |
|
| Please
remember to mention the name of the person you
sponsor in the memo section of your check or the
ID if possible or mail your check together with
the payment stub that you receive. |
|
| We appreciate
you taking the time to help up us in these ways;
we know how busy all of you are. By keeping our
administrative tasks and costs down, we will be
able to help a greater number of people who are
in need. |

|
| Dear Friends, |
January 16, 2008 |
We
hope that 2008 is a wonderful year for all
of you. You're in our thoughts and prayers
daily. We want you to know how grateful
we are to have generous hearted people like
you as part of the FCN family. We have mailed
the tax letter for your generous donation
in 2007. We can't put into words how thankful
we are that your kindness allows us to continue
the work we're most passionate about. |
|
Foundation
for Children in Need is celebrating our
sixth year. We’ve worked hard to establish
FCN and it’s wonderful to reflect
on the last 6 years and think about how
far we’ve come. We wouldn’t
be where we are without people like you.
We take great pride in knowing that, with
your help, we’ve been able to touch
many of the less fortunate in our rural
villages of India. We plan to continue working
hard to ensure that people, who would otherwise
have nowhere to turn, are offered education,
comfort and support through the Projects
of FCN. We are constantly reminded of how
blessed we are. |
|
We
send our greatest wishes for continued blessings
in your own life. May God return the generosity
you’ve shown many times over. We still
have work to do and hope that you are able
to continue helping us. We’ve built
a solid Foundation, with dedicated and committed
founders, board members and co-workers.
To keep our office expenses low we depend
a lot on volunteers and have been graced
with many who are happy to share their time
with us. By keeping our administrative overhead
low we can continue to direct our time and
resources where they’re needed most,
to the people you help through FCN in rural
India. |
|
We
have mailed a letter/receipt for donations
received during 2007. You’re kindness
means so much to us; we can’t begin
to thank you enough. We hope to affect great
changes for those who cannot help themselves
and it’s only because of your generosity
that we’re able to do so. We humbly
ask each of you to be ambassadors and advocates
of FCN. There are many people who still
need our help. If each of us tells a friend
or family member the message of our ministry
will reach many people. |
|
Please
take a moment to read about “ tax
receipts and reminders”; we’ve
included details about the new procedure
for sending your tax receipts. We’ve
also included information about our new
email reminders to sponsors, silent auction
ideas and FCN Day. By helping us in the
ways we mention, we can cut down on extra
work on our offices. We always appreciate
your efforts in these matters. |
|
Thanking
you once again and wishing you a peace-filled
New Year.
|
|
A
Merry Christmas to you. Thank you once again
and wish you the very best in 2008. |
