Foundation for Children in Need
December 25, 2005
Dear Sponsors and Donors,
Greetings and Love to you. We are happy to write this letter to you. We arrived here in India last month and we are very busy with our programs.
Together with your sponsored student and their family and those whom we serve, our FCN staff and social workers we wish you a Very Merry Christmas and a Joyful New Year. May Infant Jesus bless you abundantly. We are thinking of all you and offering our special prayers for you. 2005 has been a very fruitful year for FCN. God has been continuously blessing our ministry and us.

We will be spending four months visiting all the sponsored children, college students and elderly. We will be having several Christmas celebrations this month. We will be having many meetings with our FCN staff and social workers so that we can run this sponsorship program satisfactorily and efficiently.

We will be conducting many free medical camps and workshops on health and hygiene. We will be reaching out to many children and needy people in the villages in our area. Please keep us in your prayers.
During 2005 we started three tailoring centers where young women are taught in tailoring and embroidery. This is a one-year training and they will be awarded with a sewing machine so that they can earn some money to help their families.
There are so many needs and we are in need of your prayers and support. Please, if you can help us in any small way with an additional donation during this holiday season, please help us. Kindly share about our ministry with your family and friends.
Please kindly send all your mail and donations to FCN, 1417 E. Miner Street, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. You can always reach us through emails.
Thanking you once again and wishing you all the best

Wish Love and Prayers,

Dr. Geetha Yeruva & Tom Chitta
REPORT ON VISITS TO FCN SPONSORSHIP PROJECTS
All the projects were visited by Tom and Geetha during their stay in India from December 2004 to April 2005.
We have visited every project at least once. However the major projects like Prema Nilayam, Porumamilla, Nandyal and St. Xavier’s, were visited several times. The sponsorship program is conducted satisfactorily at each of the projects. The children, students and elderly are well taken care of.

During the month of December, we were very busy with helping the sponsored children/students/elderly in writing the Christmas letters to the sponsors. One of our staff members, Mr. Showry Anthony was seriously ill from December ’04 to February ’05. We are happy to report he is feeling better now.

While visiting the projects, we reviewed the files of those sponsored and helped our staff and project coordinators to maintain them well. We have asked our staff to report on each student's academic progress.
We had one day gathering of FCN project directors at Porumamilla on March 12, 2005. It was attended by nearly 30 members including FCN staff. During the meeting, we shared about the sponsorship program and the importance of delivering benefits to the sponsored, letter writing and keeping the records. We received a positive response from all the participants. We also were able to meet with individual project directors.
We had many discussions with the FCN staff and helped them to do their work well.

REPORT ON RELIEF AND REHABILITATION WORK FOR THE PEOPLE AFFECTED BY TSUNAMI
We are happy to share that Foundation for Children in Need was able to organize and provide relief and rehabilitation for the people affected by the tsunami in a very direct and personal way. Thanks to David Danis and Family who inspired us to reach out those who were desperate. Thanks to all those who contributed, prayed and supported during that very difficult time. We are very grateful to you.
We went to Singarayakonda, a coastal area of Andhra Pradesh, on January 2 with a team of 20 personnel. We went to two villages that day and distributed relief packets. Each contained 20 pounds of rice, 4 pounds of lentils, oil, groceries, soaps, a blanket and a towel. We also conducted free medical camps. Geetha was assisted by two doctors and three nurses. A few of our social workers continued the distribution and medical camps for one week in several villages. Relief packets were given to 1000 families. More than 2000 people received medical help.

We traveled a second time to Chirala area on February 1st and 2nd to conduct free medical camps. Along with Geetha we had two doctors and Jennifer Winn, a physician’s assistant. Jennifer is a sponsor and was on one month visit to India with her mother Susan Winn. There were15 support staff for these camps. More than 400 people and children received medical help.

A third visit was made to Chirala on April 7 to distribute fishing nets and to conduct free medical camps. One hundred families received fishing nets. More than 400 people received medical help. There were four doctors besides Geetha.

The relief and rehabilitation works were very much appreciated by many and the news media. Thanks to all our donors.
